A Wishlist For Mams

Dear Mams,

I have counted and recounted the wonderful things you have done for ME and the perks of being your daughter. But Mother's Day shouldn't be an inventory of how YOU have made a difference in MY life. It should be a celebration of YOU, a time to take a break from motherhood and be treated like the special person that you are. So I made a wishlist of sorts, something that would shift the focus from ME to YOU for a change.

I wish you more adventures. The kind that would satisfy your desire for everything beautiful.

More laughter. The belly-aching, rolling-on-the-floor kind.

A stronger, healthier heart so you can enjoy the food that you love without having to feel guilty.

Something interesting to do everyday to take the routineness out of retirement.

More opportunities to travel. Jerusalem, Paris, Greece, Egypt, and every place you've dreamed of seeing since you were a kid.

Shopping trips. Fishing trips. Nature walks. Zip-line!

I pray for the good health of your friends and the people you care for.

The realization of a dream to help more people through a foundation that you have been longing to birth for the longest time.

And more time in New York! (Well, this last wish is really for me. Hehehe.)

May you have all these and more because you truly deserve it. You are more than a "mom". You are a person of value and I celebrate that!

Happy Mother's Day, Mams! I love you!
