Not the Boy

You are not the boy who fights with fists and swords
Or shouts and screams till his voice is hoarse
You don't kick and wail when life is unfair
Or keep score and try to even out the share

You are not the boy who tramples on hearts
Or careless with tears and gets by with a farce
You don't dabble in trickery or say words so insincere
Or be casual with the truth and hide from it out of fear

You are the man who cares deeply and thinks much of another
A gentle touch, a kind word, for you it's not a bother
You extend a hand even when it's inconvenient
And love with abandon putting your heart and soul in it

You are the man whose strength is not of this world
It baffles the minds of those who think they're the definition of bold
You embrace your emotions and allow yourself to feel
And with them you connect with the world and help it to heal

You are not the boy who tries to fit into a so-called normal
You are the man cut from a different cloth, made from a mold marked "special"
In every way amazing and perfect already
But if you need to change let it be from glory to glory

Not the boy who hides...
